En Virondot 2019 shows exactly why this climat is one of the most mineral and precise corners of Chassagne. In the glass, the wine appears in a light yellow color, bright and youthful.
The nose is currently dominated by lemon zest and grapefruit — classic young white Burgundy aromatics, clean and energetic.
On the palate, the wine brings a lot of freshness, supported by good acidity. The signature of the site is unmistakable: stony minerality and surprisingly ripe tannins for a white, giving structure and depth.
It’s clearly a young Burgundy, but already highly enjoyable — and as your first 2019 from Marc Morey, a beautiful start. This vintage has the tension, purity and backbone to age gracefully.
