Visist at Clos-des-Papes (12.06.2026)

A focused tasting at Clos des Papes featuring the 2021 and 2024 Châteauneuf‑du‑Pape reds. The 2021 shows fine tannins, ripe cherry fruit and excellent balance, while the 2024 is more elegant with pepper, black fruits, violets and outstanding length. Two distinct but equally impressive expressions of this iconic domaine.

🍷 Visit at Clos des Papes — Tasting Highlights 12.06.2026

A look at the 2021 and 2024 Châteauneuf‑du‑Pape vintages

During my visit at Clos des Papes, we tasted two vintages of their iconic red Châteauneuf‑du‑Pape: the 2021 and the newly released 2024.
Der 2021er wird auf der Seite als junger, trinkbarer Wein mit großem Potenzial beschrieben .

🍇 Châteauneuf‑du‑Pape Rouge 2021

A beautifully balanced wine showing:

  • Fine tannins

  • Black ripe fruit, especially cherry

  • Very good texture and overall harmony

2021 is already enjoyable now, but with enough structure to age gracefully — a hallmark of the vintage.

🍇 Châteauneuf‑du‑Pape Rouge 2024

The 2024 vintage shows a different personality:

  • Ripe fruit character

  • More elegance and finesse

  • Notes of pepper, black fruits, and violets

  • An outstanding length on the palate

A wine with impressive precision and a long, promising evolution ahead.

Conclusion

Clos des Papes once again demonstrates why it remains one of the most respected domaines in Châteauneuf‑du‑Pape.
The 2021 is charming, balanced, and already approachable, while the 2024 stands out with elegance, depth, and remarkable length. Two vintages, two expressions — both unmistakably Clos des Papes.
