A fantastic visit at Domaine Roche on June 16th, 2026. The lineup ranged from fresh and mineral VdF wines (2025) to expressive Côtes du Rhône 2024 and elegant Cairanne 2023/2024. The highlights were the top cuvées: Marcel Roche 2023, the best I’ve tasted so far, and La Bosquette 2023 with leather, pepper, and depth. A domaine full of authenticity and character — highly recommended to visit.
A focused tasting at Clos des Papes featuring the 2021 and 2024 Châteauneuf‑du‑Pape reds. The 2021 shows fine tannins, ripe cherry fruit and excellent balance, while the 2024 is more elegant with pepper, black fruits, violets and outstanding length. Two distinct but equally impressive expressions of this iconic domaine.
A focused and elegant tasting at Domaine Charvin on June 12th, 2026. The Châteauneuf‑du‑Pape 2022 impressed with complexity, red fruit and fine tannins, while the 2023 showed youthful charm with red/black fruit, pepper and leather — though best enjoyed after a decade. The Côtes‑du‑Rhône 2024 delivered freshness, minerality and vibrant fruit from vineyards right beside the domaine. A classic Charvin experience full of purity and finesse.
Due to tiny yields and crop failure, 2024 allowed Domaine Roger Sabon to produce only one red cuvée: Les Olivets, showing black fruit, garrigue and fine tannins. The vintage is already sold out. In 2025, all four cuvées return, including the Cuvée Renaissance Blanc, offering minerality, acidity and aromas of pear and white peach. A challenging year followed by a very promising one.
A deep and inspiring tasting at Saint Jean du Barroux showcased the full range of Philippe Gimel’s terroir‑driven wines. The vertical of La Montagne Blanc (2017–2024) highlighted freshness, evolving complexity, and the impact of higher Clairette in 2024. The unique NV Caladoc Entrevon Rosé impressed with its silky texture. The 2023 red lineup showed purity, structure, and standout elegance, especially La Pierre Noire. The single‑variety Syrah and Grenache wines revealed the contrasting expressio
A memorable visit to Domaine Val de l’Orme in Tavel on June 4th, 2026, revealed one of the region’s most exciting rising estates. The fresh and aromatic Parenthèse 2025 showed vibrant Clairette fruit with a touch of Muscat, while Les Baumes 2024 impressed with purity, acidity, and classic Lirac garrigue. The barrel samples of Châteauneuf‑du‑Pape “Kairos” 2024 and 2025 highlighted elegance, fruit depth, and a clear sense of terroir. A domaine to watch closely.
A wonderful visit at Domaine Cros de la Mure on June 5th, 2026, together with my friend Edwin. After a relaxed conversation with Eric Michel, we tasted the current bottled vintages: the Côtes du Rhône 2023 with complex dark fruit and fine tannins, the rich and expressive Côtes du Rhône Blanc 2023, and the elegant Châteauneuf‑du‑Pape 2021 full of ripe red fruit and soft tannins. The Massif d’Uchaux was not yet bottled — a perfect reason to return later in summer. Another memorable highlight at on
A wonderful annual visit at Domaine Bois de Boursan with Jean‑Paul Versino, featuring an exciting tasting across three vintages. The bottled wines showed classic estate character: Tradition 2023 with sweet tannins and garrigue, Félix 2023 with dark fruits and soft leather notes, and the vibrant Tradition Blanc 2025 with green apple and fresh acidity. From barrel, the Tradition 2024 impressed with energy and fruit purity, while the Félix 2025 already displayed a refined, Burgundy‑like elegance.
A yearly visit to Domaine la Barroche with a full tasting led by Romain in the estate’s cellar. The lineup included the final Liberty 2023, several strong red Châteauneuf‑du‑Pape cuvées across multiple vintages, and impressive new whites such as the first CdP Blanc 2024 and the outstanding Pure Blanc 2024. A balanced mix of fresh releases, cellar selections, and exciting future prospects.
Visit to Domaine Burgaud in Côte‑Rôtie with barrel tastings from four key plots: Côte Blonde, Le Champin, Les Moutonnes and Bonnivières. The 2025 Côte‑Rôtie already shows harmony and depth. New this year is a vibrant Condrieu under Sélection Pierre Burgaud. A visit is highly recommended—appointment required.
Visit to Domaine Cros de Romet in Cairanne with a tasting of the estate’s only wine: Cros de Romet 2024. A Grenache‑driven blend with Syrah and Mourvèdre, showing dark fruit, spice, and smooth tannins. Vinified in concrete and stainless steel to preserve purity, the 2024 vintage combines power and elegance. A must‑try for Rhône lovers.
