Visist at Domaine Roche (16.06.2026)

A fantastic visit at Domaine Roche on June 16th, 2026. The lineup ranged from fresh and mineral VdF wines (2025) to expressive Côtes du Rhône 2024 and elegant Cairanne 2023/2024. The highlights were the top cuvées: Marcel Roche 2023, the best I’ve tasted so far, and La Bosquette 2023 with leather, pepper, and depth. A domaine full of authenticity and character — highly recommended to visit.

🍷 Visit at Domaine Roche — Tasting Highlights 16.06.2026

Authentic wines, deep regional insight, and a lineup full of character

My last visit of the trip was at Domaine Roche on Tuesday, June 16th, 2026.
It is always a pleasure to talk with Romain Roche about the current situation in the region, the challenges of the vintages, and of course the wines themselves.
The tasting lineup was diverse, expressive, and once again a perfect reflection of the domaine’s philosophy: purity, terroir, and honest craftsmanship.

🍇 Le Vilain Petit Canard — Vins de France 2025

Blanc 2025 — VdF

A vibrant and mineral‑driven white wine with citrus aromas, freshness, and great acidity.
For a VdF, this is remarkably precise and full of character.

Rouge 2025 — VdF

Juicy red fruits, a touch of garrigue, and gentle spices.
Light, charming, and very drinkable — a perfect everyday Rhône red.

🍷 Côtes du Rhône & Cairanne

Côtes du Rhône 2024

A fruit‑forward wine with red and black fruits, herbs, ground pepper, and even a hint of violets.
A true fruit bomb, yet balanced and fresh.

Cairanne 2023

Compared to the Côtes du Rhône, the Cairanne shows more elegance, layered pepper, and well‑integrated acidity.
A refined and structured expression of the appellation.

Cairanne 2024

Similar in style to the 2023, but with an interesting chocolate note that adds depth and complexity.

Top Cuvées — Marcel Roche & La Bosquette

Cuvée Marcel Roche 2023

Mainly Grenache — and for me, the best Marcel Roche I’ve tasted so far.
Red and black fruits, pure elegance, long finish, fine herbs, and a subtle backbone of minerality and acidity.
A truly outstanding wine.

Cuvée La Bosquette 2023

A completely different expression: leather, pepper, and black fruits.
Made from the oldest parcels of the domaine, this cuvée shows depth, structure, and a more serious, traditional Rhône profile.

Conclusion

Domaine Roche once again proves why it is one of the most exciting producers in Cairanne. From expressive VdF wines to structured Cairanne and the outstanding top cuvées, every wine has personality and terroir. I can only recommend visiting the domaine yourself — these wines deserve to be discovered in person.
