Visit at Domaine Roger Sabon (12.06.2026)
Due to tiny yields and crop failure, 2024 allowed Domaine Roger Sabon to produce only one red cuvée: Les Olivets, showing black fruit, garrigue and fine tannins. The vintage is already sold out. In 2025, all four cuvées return, including the Cuvée Renaissance Blanc, offering minerality, acidity and aromas of pear and white peach. A challenging year followed by a very promising one.

🍷 Visit at Domaine Roger Sabon — Vintage Insights 2024 & 2025
A rare look behind the scenes during a challenging vintage
During my visit on June 12th, 2026, I learned that 2024 was an exceptionally difficult year at Domaine Roger Sabon. Tiny yields combined with crop failure made it impossible to produce the full range of cuvées. As a result, only one red Châteauneuf‑du‑Pape was bottled — the domaine’s classic Les Olivets.
🍇 Châteauneuf‑du‑Pape “Les Olivets” 2024 — the only red cuvée of the vintage
With all grapes blended into this single wine, the 2024 Les Olivets shows the purest expression of the domaine’s style:
Black fruits
Garrigue and Provençal spices
Fine, rising tannins
Classic structure despite the difficult year
The entire production is already sold out, which is no surprise given the extremely small quantity.
🍇 Looking ahead: 2025 brings all four cuvées back
Châteauneuf‑du‑Pape “Cuvée Renaissance” 2025 — Blanc
Made from four grape varieties, this white CdP shows:
Great minerality
Fresh, balanced acidity
Aromas of pear and white peach
A harmonious, elegant profile
A promising start to what looks like a strong vintage.
⭐ Conclusion
2024 was a year of loss and limitation at Domaine Roger Sabon, but the resulting Les Olivets stands as a concentrated, terroir‑driven expression of the estate. With 2025 returning to full strength — including the elegant Renaissance Blanc — the domaine is clearly back on track for a strong future.
