Visit Domaine Charvin (12.06.2026)
A focused and elegant tasting at Domaine Charvin on June 12th, 2026. The Châteauneuf‑du‑Pape 2022 impressed with complexity, red fruit and fine tannins, while the 2023 showed youthful charm with red/black fruit, pepper and leather — though best enjoyed after a decade. The Côtes‑du‑Rhône 2024 delivered freshness, minerality and vibrant fruit from vineyards right beside the domaine. A classic Charvin experience full of purity and finesse.

🍷 Visit at Domaine Charvin — Tasting Highlights 12.06.2026
A classic Châteauneuf‑du‑Pape estate showing purity, finesse and timeless style
On Friday, June 12th, 2026, I had several visits planned — and one of the most anticipated stops was Domaine Charvin. As always, the tasting with Laurent Charvin delivered authenticity, precision and the unmistakable Charvin signature. We tasted the current Châteauneuf‑du‑Pape 2022 & 2023, as well as the Côtes‑du‑Rhône 2024. Sadly, the white Châteauneuf‑du‑Pape was already sold out — no surprise, as it is consistently excellent.
🍇 Châteauneuf‑du‑Pape Rouge 2022
A year longer in bottle than the 2023, the 2022 shows beautiful complexity with aromas of red fruits, pepper, garrigue and subtle herbs. The fine, elegant tannins give the wine a refined structure and highlight the domaine’s classic, understated style.
🍇 Châteauneuf‑du‑Pape Rouge 2023
An intriguing young CdP showing red and black fruits, pepper, and a touch of wet leather. It feels surprisingly approachable now, but for me, Charvin truly shines after 10+ years of bottle age.
My personal benchmark: 2015 — now in perfect form.
🍷 Côtes‑du‑Rhône Rouge 2024
A beautifully crafted Côtes‑du‑Rhône with red and black fruit, lively minerality, and refreshing acidity. The grapes come from vineyards directly beside the domaine, visible from the tasting area — a charming detail that underlines the authenticity of this wine.
